Back-to-school on Rachael Ray

Back-to-school for the kids, back-to-work for mama!  I had a blast on The Rachael Ray Show this morning testing out 3 adorable snacks for the kiddos: edible crayons, rainbow pasta and homemade fruit leather.  They were extremely easy and Rach and I gave them four thumbs up, because we each have four thumbs (you know what I mean).  If you missed the segment, you can check it out here!

Easter fun with Rachael

I had a blast on the Rachael Ray Show today!  Sure, we made out with eggs and broke a few (okay, Rach broke a few), but it was so much fun to try out three crafty, Easter-inspired treats and crafts that we found online.  Check out the segment here.  And, if you ever come across something on the World Wide Web that makes you say, "SIRI-ously, can I really make that?" please send it my way!

(Because I am Siri.)

Andes Mint Chunk Cookies

Two things:

First, my little man is almost six.  SIX!  I have been a mom for six years.  Which pretty much makes me an expert (even though I have no idea what I'm doing).  Jackson is pure joy, and I'm so lucky that he chose me to be his mama.  At school, they get to bring in birthday treats, and he chose these Andes Mint Chunk Cookies.  Good boy, right?  "Mama, I'm Irish, and we Irish like mint."  That's probably a gigantic stereotype, but who can argue with a 6 year-old choosing his birthday treat?!  So we made these cookies yesterday, and swapped chocolate chips for chopped up Andes Mints.  They are YUM.

Second thing: I'm so happy to announce that I'll be back on the Rachael Ray Show this Monday, March 16th!  If you like to plan ahead for holidays when it comes to crafts and treats like me, because you have obsessive compulsive traits, again, like me, then you won't want to miss this show! Rachael and I are going to test out a few Easter ideas we found online that led us to say, "SIRIously, is that possible?!"  Oh puns, you're fun.  Things get a little messy, so please tune in to see :)

Also, Andes Mint Brownies here.

One-Pot Chicken Alfredo

Did today really happen?  Did I actually cook and eat pasta with Rachael Ray?
Thank you friends, old and new, for watching and for the nice feedback.  I had so much fun!  Everyone that works on that show is just lovely... it's my new happy place.  People keep asking about the One-Pot Chicken Alfredo (stupid good), and you can find the recipe (plus video) by clicking here.  For the Mason Jar Lid Apple Pies, click here.

SO!  Are there any recipes that you've seen out there that have you thinking, SIRIOUSLY?  Can I actually make that?  Please send me ideas!  I will be your Guinea Pig Chef.  That's a thing.  Excited to hear from you!

Drunk on pasta...

Meatloaf Muffins with Barbecue Sauce

Remember to tune into the Rachael Ray Show today!  The above photo is a sneak peak of me, pretending to be calm and cool, pretending to sip coffee, actually baking up something that involves those mason jars... by the way, did you know I'm a Lifestyle Pro?  Yup, according to Rach and her website, that's what I am.  I call her "Rach" now.

And in honor of RR (another nickname) and her amazing show, I made one of her recipes last night.  Not even on purpose.  I had zero clue what to make for dinner, and with only one ingredient on my mind (ground turkey) I found these Meatloaf Muffins with Barbecue Sauce by Rachael Ray!  They were SO delicious... extremely moist with a crusty exterior, sweet and spicy... small enough for you to eat three or four or six or seven JUST KIDDING.

I hope you like the show today!

Rachael Ray Show

Are you guys ready for some CRAZY fantastic news?  Yes??

Tomorrow (Jan 7), I will be on the Rachael Ray Show!  Yup, me, who has probably watched every "30 Minute Meals" and even "40 Dollars a Day" from way back when (college = me, watching the Food Network, eating).  I am beyond thrilled about this opportunity, and I can't wait for you to be a part of it (if you watch, please watch!?).  Rachael's style of cooking really embodies what this blog is about: no fuss, no stress, trust your instincts and for god's sake, embrace your mistakes!  I personally think we make a great pair.  You should have fun in the kitchen and TRY things... which is exactly what you'll see me doing tomorrow.  Trying things :)

Check your local listings for channel and time as it varies across the country.  And please tune in!
